A different approach for treatment-affected skin
Cancer therapies can sometimes leave skin drier, more sensitive, more reactive or less able to tolerate products and friction. The Oncology-Safe Facial is designed around those changes with a slower pace, simplified product choices and a barrier-first approach.
This service is supportive skincare—not cancer treatment or medical care. Your oncology team remains the primary source for medical guidance, especially when skin is actively inflamed, infected, open, blistered or affected by radiation or systemic therapy.
Duration: Approximately 60 minutes
Single session: $259
Series of 3: $699 (save $78)
Active treatment policy: Medical clearance from your oncology team is required before booking while actively undergoing cancer treatment.
What’s included
Gentle cleanse
A soft, non-stripping cleanse selected for sensitive and reactive skin.
Skin assessment
Your current skin condition, treatment timeline, medications, sensitivities and areas of concern are reviewed before products are selected.
Barrier-support mask
A calming, hydration-focused mask is chosen to support comfort without aggressive exfoliation or strong actives.
Gentle restorative touch
Slow, soothing facial touch may be used when appropriate. Pressure, areas treated and duration are adapted to your comfort and treatment status; any touch-based step can be skipped.
Moisturizer
A replenishing moisturizer is applied to support softness, hydration and barrier comfort.
Sun protection
Broad-spectrum SPF is applied when appropriate, with sensitive-skin options selected based on tolerance.
Who should consider this facial?
- Clients experiencing dryness, tightness or increased sensitivity during or after cancer treatment
- Fragile or reactive skin that does not tolerate aggressive facials
- Clients seeking calm, professional self-care during recovery
- People who want a simplified, fragrance-conscious and barrier-focused facial
- Cancer survivors whose skin needs have changed after treatment
What to expect
The appointment is intentionally slow and adaptable. There are no aggressive resurfacing steps, abrasive exfoliation or strong corrective actives. Your comfort guides the treatment, and any step may be modified or omitted.
When treatment should be postponed or modified
Cosmetic facial care is not performed over active infection, open wounds, blistering, significant radiation dermatitis or severely compromised skin. Fever, feeling unwell, low blood counts, recent procedures, ports, lymphedema concerns or other treatment-related issues should be discussed before your appointment. Your oncology team’s guidance always takes priority.
Possible skin response
This facial is designed to minimize irritation, but highly reactive skin may still develop temporary pinkness, warmth or sensitivity. Most clients can return to normal activities after the appointment, but individual responses vary.
How often should I come?
There is no one schedule for every oncology client. Some people choose supportive care every 4–6 weeks, while others need longer intervals or should wait until treatment side effects settle. Frequency is based on your skin, treatment status and healthcare guidance.
What results can I expect?
- More comfortable, hydrated-feeling skin
- A softer, calmer-looking complexion
- Support for a dry or fragile skin barrier
- A gentle, private self-care experience

Frequently asked questions
Who should consider an Oncology-Safe Facial?
This facial is designed for clients with dry, fragile, reactive or treatment-affected skin, including people during or after cancer treatment when professional facial care is appropriate. Every appointment begins with a consultation and suitability review.
Do I need medical clearance?
Z Aesthetics & Wellness requires medical clearance from the treating oncology team for clients currently undergoing active cancer treatment. Clearance may also be requested when there are recent procedures, significant treatment side effects or other safety concerns.
What happens during the treatment?
The facial is slow, gentle and adaptable. It typically includes a non-stripping cleanse, skin assessment, barrier-supportive mask, gentle restorative touch as appropriate, moisturizer and broad-spectrum SPF. Any step can be modified or omitted for comfort and safety.
Is massage included?
This service does not use a traditional massage protocol. Gentle restorative facial touch may be included when appropriate, with pressure and areas treated adjusted to the client's comfort, medical history and treatment status.
Is there downtime?
Most clients can resume normal activities after the appointment, but very sensitive skin may show temporary pinkness, warmth or mild reactivity. Individual responses vary.
How often should I book?
Frequency depends on treatment status, skin condition, comfort and guidance from the healthcare team. Some clients choose visits about every 4 to 6 weeks, while others need a different schedule.
What results can I expect?
The goal is improved comfort, replenished hydration, softer-feeling skin and a calmer, more supported skin barrier. This is supportive skincare, not medical treatment, and individual results vary.
Can I receive this facial over radiation-treated skin?
Areas that are actively irritated, peeling, blistered, open or otherwise compromised from radiation or other therapy are not treated cosmetically. The service may be postponed or modified, and guidance from the cancer care team takes priority.
